OBJECTIVE Maxim 抯 principle objective is to employ biological processes to develop quality and innovative products for health care and life science. The company brings substantial value to the market by improving the manner in which life science and medical researchers perform nucleic acid amplification assays. Nucleic acid amplification is the cornerstone of genome analysis and is a time consuming, laborious process. Maxim抯 core competency in developing multiplex amplification assay systems affords researchers the opportunity to significantly increase their assay through-put while reducing the time consuming and laborious nature that is typical of many of today抯amplification assay systems. As the Human Genome Project has been completed and other genome sequencing efforts are nearing completion, Maxim believes that the focus of research will shift toward discovering the specific functions of genes and their encoded proteins. This knowledge will lead to the development of new drugs, diagnostic techniques, disease therapies, and useful crop and livestock variations. Many of the conventional molecular biology research methods being used to accomplish these goals are time consuming and require considerable scientific training and experience to generate accurate, reproducible results.
